though the lyrics are actually not depressing, hearing this song makes me sad every time. i always picture an old man, nearing the end of his days, singing it in grateful retrospect of his life and love.
p.s. today, itunes began to offer the beatles’ entire catalog. this was my 1st purchase from it.
